This is an ongoing project I'm running in a collaboration with Brasswood, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Are goal is turn heavy cymbals, that ain't very useful in today's music anymore, into 'one of a kind' cymbals, all with their own character and personality.
To get to this result, all of these cymbals are hand hammered and relathed on the top and bottom side of the cymbal to reduce the weight of the cymbal, but also to give it a fresh cymbal without any patina, which sounds and plays like a brand new boutique shop cymbal would sound and play. The outcome can't be predicted precisely to every cymbal is a bit of an experiment on it's own, leading to very interesting cymbals. Upcycled cymbals, ready to be played again for decades!
