22" Modified Zildjian Avedis Deep Ride 2450gr
This 22" ride used to be a Zildjian Avedis Deep Ride and it's amazing how much of that low dark pitch and sustain of the original character is still there after the modification. We hammered the cymbal and lathed it down to a weight of 2450 grams. Later it got some over hammering and some cluster hammering close to the edge all around the cymbal to make it slightly more dry.
The result is a complex ride that's very rich in its harmonics, deep profound pitch, sustain and fundamental tone.
Due to it's lighter weight, I decided to use Vic Firth Peter Erskine sticks for this demo, to get the best articulation out of the cymbal.
