20" K. Zildjian (Istanbul) New Stamp Ride (crack fix) 1835gr
One of those cymbals that's just perfect, until you see the crack just under the bell. This 20" K. Zildjian (Istanbul) New Stamp comes in at a weight of 1835 gram. It's surprisingly stiff so it brings a lot of bright tones for a cymbal at this weight. The crack obviously has been fixed to bring back its glorious sound. There's some center hole cracks as well, but decided to leave them as is for now. The good thing about "crack fixed K's" is that they are cheaper than the ones in pristine condition, but still have that great sound we're all looking for!
For this recording I used regular Vic Firth 5A sticks, which normally would be a bit too heavy for a cymbal at this weight, but in this case it works just fine as well and would be best for reference. If you go to smaller tip/lighter sticks, the cymbal would open more of the low frequencies and gets a better articulation (I'd use Peter Erskine Ride Sticks for personal use).
